Nissan Regional had been investigating my transfer case situation. They were not aware that I had brought the murano in for Fran to evaluate. I just received a call from Nissan Regional and because I have been such a loyal customer, they are going to deduct $500 from the part needed. THEN, I informed them that I had taken the car to a very reputable mechanic and that there IS NO transfer case issue. Dead silence on the phone. He stumbled over his words a bit. Suggested I take it to a different Nissan mechanic for another opinion. I suggested to him that this would be ridiculous, because my car is in their computer system and that I would not be getting an objective evaluation. Dead silence on the phone. So I ask him politely if my trusted Mechanic could come with be to Nissan Service and have their mechanics show Fran the issue. He stumbles again over his words and says he is not sure if that can be done. He was going to call the dealership to find out. I ended the conversation with a woeful: "I thought I could trust Nissan and now I am quite sure that I can't." I think they might out my photo in the middle of a dart board. Hope Fran gets a chuckle from this saga. From hence forth, the Murano will never go to the dealership. I will be arranging an oil change in mid August and have Fran and his team take another peek at the transfer case as he suggested. Thank you. Carolyn Hoffman(Sarah the police officer's mom)
